Sail Storage |

Last update, February 6, 2002 Needs to be updated
During the construction periods to date, there has been no documentation of storage. The same is for the sail case. This will be part of the projects this year. A simple two-rig case will be built and there will be some information on vehicle racks, like those for vans. Meanwhile, the following is offered till we get something more organized.
When you get the sails from the sailmaker, they will be rolled in a tube. Remove them right away and hang them in a closet or fashion something on a wall that can receive them. What you should do is arrange something where the sail will have hang or lay freely till you have them in a rig. You can also lay them in a tray and slide them under a bed or any location that is flat horizontally. Mylar is susceptible to heat and can reform in temperatures over a hundred when crinkled, folded or rolled. After the sails or on a rig, they can be stored in a case lying flat or tilted against a wall or hung by the crane on a wall. The attached garage or storeroom would be fine but something out in the heat of summer is taboo. Several rigs can hang together if the nail is long enough. |
